The meeting was just as I figured--no job was offered. They're on a hiring freeze, so actually no one will be taking F.'s job. And that's cool, because if I can't have that job, then no one should. Right? Right?Um. So. The Anti-Cruelty Society is near the offices. They put dogs that are up for adoption in cages that face the street so you can see their sweet little expectant faces when you walk by. I am such a softie. I looked at the dogs for awhile, and then had to call C. (on my cell phone! Ugh!) to have him remind me that we aren't equipped to take in a dog right now. Someday, but not now. Someday, but not now. Currently the story of my life!
